Obituary For Alan Einar Anderson

Obituary Alan Einar Anderson, 80 years of age, left our world on April 4th 2018 surrounded by love. A unique man, Alan could spin a tale or tell a joke better than anyone. He had a professional career that he adored. He was whip smart, and he had a moral compass that always pointed north. By all accounts, Alan was a master in life. Alan was born on November 25, 1937, and was raised in a small town called Furgus Falls/Deer Creek in Minnesota and moving to Seattle early in childhood. After graduating from Lincoln High School, he then joined the Air Force in January 1955 as an enlisted Airman with the 4138th Organizational Maintenance Squadron, he spent the next 8 years receiving an honorable discharge as an Airplane Mechanic 1st Class, and was immediately hired by The Boeing Company & a short period for Braniff Airlines upon returning to Seattle, spending his career in the Quality Organization. He worked his way up through Production, Experimental Flight Test, AOG (Aircraft on Ground rescuing ""stranded and broken aircraft"") and finally in Customer Quality Support, delivering aircraft to airline customers worldwide. He retired in 1999 after 33 years and was a proud member of the ""Incredibles"" having worked on the first 747 ever, which is currently parked at the Museum of Flight, he also worked on the first 777 in Experimental Flight Test. Aviation was his true passion. In 1970 he took on the biggest responsibility of his life, ""Daddy"" to his daughter Danettie as he would call her. He raised this little girl and was very close with her and his two granddaughters. To Alan, Danette was his real daughter, not a step-daughter. They loved each other to the end. He had a Private Pilot's License and loved to fly in his spare time, he also held several inspection ratings with the FAA and Checked out new mechanics in order to receive their Airframe and Powerplant License. He helped his daughter roll her toolbox into the Everett Factory in September 1988, as a second generation ""Boeing Brat"" and aircraft mechanic, he was very proud of her following in his footsteps. After retirement, Alan worked with the Mariners as a Team Member, making the days of many children and people who passed by. He loved talking about baseball to anyone at the ballpark who came his way and was always ready with a story. He also worked on the U8 Hydroplane Team for several years, was a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars having served in the Korean Conflict during his time in the Air Force, as well as the American Legion, the Sons of Italy (Auburn), and the Auburn Eagles. He was an avid Dancer and could charm the shoes off of most ladies and loved to golf and meet with the folks at Emerald Downs, where he spent much time on Saturday Mornings. He is survived by his Daughter Danette Sawin-Grosvenor (Mark) of Mukilteo, Granddaughters Stacie Sawin-McCartan and Tiffany Grosvenor, Sister Janice Lunenberg (Jules), Nieces & Nephews Richard, Michael, Michelle and Mark Crummet. He was preceded in death by parents Einar and Irene Anderson. Our world is a better place that Alan was in it. He will be so greatly missed by his beloved friends and family. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Puppies Behind Bars: Service Dogs for Veterans.
