Alice was raised in the Summit area of Puyallup through 9th grade. Her father opened a restaurant in Auburn with the family living upstairs. Alice was the surrogate mother to her 4 younger siblings as her mother died in 1941. She was the valedictorian of her senior class and was married to Royal D Adams on April 25, 1951. After graduation, she and a friend drove down to San Antonio where their husbands were stationed during the Korean War. She went to work with an independent Insurance Agency and continued to work with various Agencies her whole working life. She had a daughter, Royallee in 1952, sons Randall in 1955, Dennis in 1957 and lost a son, Richard in 1954. After divorcing in 1969, she moved to Sumner with her kids. She met the cousin of good friends in 1971, with she and E.B. Bailey being married shortly thereafter. In 1978, they moved to Auburn where she worked and most of her friends/family were. Alice retired in 1993 and they bought a home in Rio Verde retirement park in Auburn and became snow birds going down to Ranchero El Mirage AZ, having a park model home there & was around many Auburn friends & golfing. She moved back to Auburn full time in 2003 and her husband E.B.(Pug) Bailey passed shortly thereafter. Alice spent the last 20 years being very active in the Rio Verde community and headed many group activities there. The last 2 years brought declining health, causing her to move into an Adult Family home in Puyallup, where she died September15, 2024. Up to the end she was actively thinking of things she could be doing as her incredible motor never stopped. As a mother of 3 kids she was very active in their PTA, being Vice President one yr and President for 2 yrs, typed the monthly school newspaper that included posts from all 18 different classes on memo graph paper for 5+ yrs. She did attend junior college in 1968/1969. After marrying Pug, they along with cousin Ralph & Betty Blakeney bought a 30’ cabin cruiser and enjoyed weekends out on Puget Sound & Hood Canal, where they also bought a small retreat lot near clams, oysters & friends too.
