Obituary For Alvina Milia Popke
Obituary Alvina was born on February 23, 1925 in Dooley, Montana to Carl and Milia Anderson. During her lifetime, she worked for Tonkins, Rubattinos, Shaw Drug, and the Maverick Steakhouse. Alvina also had her own restaurant at the top of the old city hall. She loved the memories of all the people in Renton she waited on. Her hobbies included cooking, shopping, and dressing up. When she was cooking, she must have thought she was cooking for the entire town of Renton. Holidays were very important to Alvina. Her house was always decorated for Christmas by the first of November and there wasn't a room that didn't have every space covered with holiday items. Besides family, she was blessed with the most amazing girlfriends. She is survived by her son, Gary Goeman (Judy) of Marysville, WA; daughter Gayle Goeman Richards of Covington, WA; grandchildren Chris Richards, Gary Goeman Jr, and Stacey Goeman; 5 great-grandchildren, her sister Hildy Johnson VanBergh of Post Falls, ID; brother Arnold Aklestad of Bigfork, MT. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Popke. There will be a memorial service at the Salvation Army Church in Renton, WA on Friday December 7th at 2pm. She will be privately inured with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery in Renton. Please sign the on-line guest book and share your memories and thoughts with the family.
