Obituary For Darold Francis Harmer

Darold Francis Harmer, 82, of Auburn, Washington, passed away peacefully on June 11th, with his family by his side. He was born in Walla Walla, WA, to Archie and Elizabeth (Hoffarth) Harmer on July 9th, 1937. Darold graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1955 where he was a first team all-star in multiple sports and with the help of his great teammates Chuck Klarich, Jerry Browitt, Ed Aho and Chuck Allen, to name a few, led the Cle Elum Warriors to championships in both football and basketball.

He met the love of his life Claudia Goodrow, and they were married on August 22nd, 1959. They settled down in Auburn, WA, and in 1960 they welcomed a baby girl, Renee, in 1961 they welcomed a son, Gregg, and in 1965 they welcomed another son, Scott. Darold enjoyed coaching his boys in all sports, and watching his wonderful grandchildren, Brock, Bianca and Taylor grow into young adults. Darold was an avid golfer and was finally blessed with his only hole-in-one on Auburn’s eighth hole, September 28th 2018.

He is preceded in death by his wife Claudia, parents Archie and Liz Harmer along with his brother Roland. He is survived by his sisters Joyce and Margie, brother Bob, Daughter Renee, Son-in-law Brett, Sons Gregg and Scott, Daughter-in-law Yvonne, Grandson Brock, Daughter-in-law Danielle, and Granddaughters Bianca and Taylor.

There will be a Celebration of Life for him, and the family will reach out to everyone and let them know the information to when, where and what time.

    My condolences to my cousins. Uncle Darold was such a loving uncle. I always enjoyed his fun stories, great sense of humor and most of all his wonderful laugh! I'm thinking of you all and praying for God to comfort you during this time.Love you! Toni

    I  enjoyed playing golf with Darold for many years, and never beat him. He was always fun and cheerful. He was a fine man, and I will miss him.

    My condolences to family and friends. Darold was a regular on trips with both the Kent and Auburn Senior Centers.  He was a lot of fun.  We knew that he liked to play golf.

    The staff of the Auburn Senior Center were sad to hear the news of Darold's passing. We always enjoyed it when he joined us for trips and dine outs. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He will be missed.Radine, Rocky and Janet
