Obituary For Eugenia Pano Llapitan

Eugenia was born on December 15, 1928 to Pacencia and Roman Paño in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. On September 4, 2019, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side at home in Pacific, WA. She was 90 years old.

She married Alfredo E. Llapitan in the Philippines in June 1950 before moving to the United States. Together they lived in Pacific and raised their 3 children.

She first worked at a coat factory in Tacoma, taking the bus daily to work. She then moved into the Aerospace industry working at Heath Tecna in Kent. She would carpool with ladies from work and take turns driving. After working there for over 30 years, she retired in 1994.

Eugenia -known by many as Genie- was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, sister and friend. She was an active member of the Filipino-American Community of Puget Sound and the Filipino-American Women’s Club in Algona. She also participated in many activities at the Senior Center in Pacific. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening, traveling with family, and going on field trips with other seniors.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Llapitan, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

She is survived by her sister Patricia Gragasin; her 3 children Fred (Sheila) Llapitan, Pacita (Jorge) Mina, Ronnie (Sue) Llapitan; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11:00am at Holy Family Church, 505 17th Street SE, Auburn WA 98002. Internment at Mt. View Cemetery, Auburn, WA.
