Obituary Gerty Chase passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2018 in Auburn, WA. Gerty was born in Wadena, Minnesota to Emil and Dorothy Geber on November 10, 1929. She graduated from Wadena High School and went onto business college. She met and married Eugene Chase in 1948. Gerty and Gene moved to Fargo, North Dakota. They had two children in Fargo and then moved to Washington State where they had three more children. Gerty went to work for Boeing and then worked at a temporary agency doing office work. She then went to work for her son, Randy at his auto parts store until she retired. Gerty loved music. She and Gene square danced for many years and joined the Old Time Fiddlers where she played her guitar for many years. Gerty also volunteered at the Auburn Senior Center for many years and went on many trips and hikes with her friends. Gerty also loved sewing and making quilts. Gerty loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed. Gerty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Chase, her sister Jeanette, and her brother James. Gerty is survived by her sister, Phyllis, daughter Kathy Parshall (Mick), son Randy Chase (Cheryl), son Steve Chase (Linda), son Mike Chase (Yvonne) and daughter Sandy Chase. Gerty is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Gerty's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1pm at Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, WA. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
