Obituary For Isabelo Cabida Tugade Jr.

Isabelo C. Tugade, Jr., lovingly known as "Bel," passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in the warmth of his home in Milton, WA, surrounded by his cherished sisters—Rosita, Espie, and Linda—his sister-in-law, Fely, and his devoted wife, Norma. Born on December 10, 1940, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Isabelo C. Tugade, Sr. and Marcela Tugade, Bel pursued his studies at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines until he chose to volunteer for the US Navy, seeking to uplift and support his family. On April 27, 1964, in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines, Bel wed his beloved Norma, and together they had three children: Gemma (Dec 31, 1967), Mariebel, and Isabelo P. Tugade, III. In June 1960, Bel embarked on his journey with the US Navy, serving his adopted country with honor for 22 years and 2 months. His early days as a cook saw him preparing meals for the sailors, eventually earning the privilege to serve the captain exclusively. With an unyielding spirit, he transitioned to the role of jet mechanic, skillfully maintaining the TF-30, J-52, and J-79 engines that powered the Tomcat, Intruder, Skyhawk, and Tiger fighter jets. At one point, he even tended to the legendary Blue Angels. In 1982, Bel retired from active naval service and relocated to Seattle, WA, to be nearer to his beloved family, working thereafter as a Naval Civil Service Nuclear Submarine Electrician until he concluded his civil service journey in 2002 after two decades of dedication. Bel’s heart overflowed with love for his family, especially all of the children whom he all called “grandchildren”and embraced as if they were all his own. Their hugs were treasures, and their laughter filled his soul with joy. A passionate golfer, Bel was also deeply involved in the Masonic Fraternity and the Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations, embodying a spirit of service and camaraderie. He had a large heart for both family and community. He was preceded in death by his brothers Noberto and Moises, along with his niece Florie and nephew Duardo. He is survived by his wife, Norma Tugade; his daughter, Mariebel Yancey (Jamille), blessed with grandchildren Justice and Jemma; and his son, Isabelo Tugade III (Monique), with grandchildren Alyna and Mia. Additionally, he leaves behind his loving sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law: Fely (Noberto Tugade - deceased), Berta (Moises Tugade - deceased), Elias (Talin), Rosita Royal (Donnie), Espie Aguas (Rey), Linda Regacho (Willie), Jerry (Marilyn), and Cesar
