Ken was born in Potlatch, Idaho on April 7, 1936 to Leland Dirst Kellogg and Grace Irish Kellogg.

In the spring of 1942, the family moved to Redondo Beach, Washington. The family moved next to Pacific City and shortly after the war ended, the family moved to Auburn, Washington. When Ken was about thirteen, he started hunting pheasants and ducks with his Dad. He always loved fishing and that was something he did all through his life.

At seventeen Ken joined the Naval Reserve. He resigned from the Naval Reserve in the spring of 1955 and joined the Army just before graduation from high school. He attended basic training at Fort Ord, California and Signal Supply School at Fort Gordon, Georgia. After Camp Gordon, Ken was transferred to the Headquarters of the Alaska Communication System in Seattle. After about a month, he was shipped out to Ketchikan, Alaska.

In 1955, Ken met Twila Fay Olin and they were married in Sacramento, California on 27 February 1957. In 1958, Corporal Kellogg was assigned a tour of duty in Seattle. In 1960 he was promoted to Sergeant and was reassigned back to Alaska. By 1960, Ken and Twila had three children—Dee, Rock and Marty.

In 1962, Ken soloed and on the 10th day of September 1962 he passed his private pilot check ride. He was still flying, and loving it, when he passed in 2020.

In March 1963, Ken decided to take a discharge from the Army. After his discharge, he held several jobs until he was hired by the General Services Administration (GSA) in Auburn, Washington.

In 1966, he applied and was accepted as an inventory manager and purchasing agent for GSA. In 1987, he was promoted to Director of the Procurement Division. He retired on 31 May 1991 after 34 years of service with the Federal Government.

Ken loved to fly and fish. Hunting was a third passion. He loved his family and his wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife Gail, children Dee, Rock, Marty, and Chris; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
