Obituary For Leona M. Tam
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Leona M Tam, 92, our loving mother and friend to all whose lives she touched on May 24, at home in Rainier, WA. She was the wife of Elmer Tam. They shared 61 years of marriage together.
Born in Colville, WA, she was the daughter of Wesley and Willa Millard. Her baby sister Naomi was born 10 years later. Leona attended Marcus High School in Marcus, Washington. Leona worked at Boeing for 25 years as a clerk, retiring in 1986.
Leona was a member of First Baptist Church in Yelm, Washington. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and quilting. Going on the quilt shop hops with her two daughters and friends. In the last month of her life she cheered her daughters on as they got all of her quilt tops quilted and ready to gift to each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Leona is survived by her daughters Sandy (Dick) Johnson and Debi (Larry) Davidson, grandchildren Steve (Donna) Johnson, Mike (Dooey) Johnson, Heather (Jason) Sprague, Angela (Chris) Miller, Lindy Blatt (Miles), Debra (Dustin) Mullen and Ben Davidson. Great grandchildren Coleman (Emily) Johnson, Brianna Johnson, Dominic Blatt, Ryland Blatt, Keegan Miller, Truitt Miller, Isla Miller, Haley Sprague, Ethan Sprague, Brandon Sprague, Tyler Mullen, Austin Mullen and Owen Mullen.
She is predeceased by her parents Wesley and Willa Millard, sister Naomi Daily, husband Elmer, son Jerry Tam and daughter Judy Tam.
The memorial service will be on June 9, 2023, at 9 A.M. held at Voiles Funeral Home, 15124 Main St. E, Sumner, Washington with graveside services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain View Cemetery 2020 Mountain View Dr. Auburn, WA.
Mom will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
