Obituary For Mary Joyce Steinhart
Mary Joyce Steinhart, 86, of Boise, passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2020 at home.
Funeral service will be held at Price Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, Washington. She will be buried next to her first husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn.
Mary Joyce Steinhart was born in Herington, Kansas on August 7th, 1933 to James and Hazel Johnson. She grew up in Coffeeville, Kansas and moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma when she was in nineth grade and graduated from Wagoner High School. She always wanted to play the piano and started learning to play at the age of four. She learned to play the piano by ear and provided many years of enjoyment for her family and friends playing for them. She also played for her church, nursing homes and assisted living homes. She went to Oklahoma University where she met her first husband Henry (Bud) Ellsworth Bruner. They were married on July 28th, 1953 in Oklahoma. She is survived by her four children, Steven (Nancy) Henry Bruner, Roger (Cindy) Lee Bruner, Patricia (Joel) Joyce Bruner (Shook), Richard (Monika) Michael Bruner, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She lost her first husband from cancer in October 21, 1980. She met Walter Steinhart and they were married on May 11th, 1985. She had a long career working for Pacific NW Telephone Company and retired in 1995. She loved playing the piano, traveling, making crafts, dancing, bowling, camping, playing card games, being active in her church and spending time with her family. She loved music and even learned to play the ukulele in her eighties.
She moved to Idaho with her husband Walt in 2005 where her daughter and son lived. She lost her husband in 2008. She was full of life, always positive and brought smiles to everyone she met. She was very compassionate and caring, always helping others. She battled polycystic kidney disease for many years and eventually was on dialysis her last five years of her life. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends.
