Obituary For Norman Shird Bilbrey Jr.

Obituary Norman Shird Bilbrey Jr. 77 passed away March 26, 2018 in Seattle, Washington. Norm was born to Norman Sr. and Alice Bilbrey on December 12, 1940 in Seattle. He graduated from Highline High School in 1959 where he met his wife of 58 years, Sharen Tomlinson. Norm had a love for cars and began his career at Jerry's Auto Sales in Burien, leading to his life long career of heavy equipment body repair and painting. In 1980 he started his own business, Norm's Truck & Equipment, in which all three of his children had the pleasure of working with him over the last 38 years. Norm enjoyed traveling, farming, gardening, and restoring classic cars. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, gentle man who sincerely loved everyone and truly saw the best in people. To Norm, the glass was always half full, never half empty. No matter who Norm was interacting with, he always left you with a word of encouragement and hope. Perhaps Norm was known best by the deep love for his family. He is survived by his wife, Sharen, sons Kevin (Bonnie) and Keith (Wendy); daughter Kelli (Bill) Carson; grandchildren, Kacee, Hollie (Travis), Breanne, Sarah, Zach, Jake, Meranda, and Andrew; great granddaughter Andie; and his sister, Irene (Jim) McDonald. A graveside service was held March 30th at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Washington. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, April 14, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church in Sumner, Washington for all who wish to attend. We would like to express our deep gratitude to Seattle Cancer Care and UW Medical Center for their compassionate, dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UW Medical Center or Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
