Obituary For Pauline Pierre

Pauline (Pudmaroff) Pierre, Born August 22, 1938 in Cowley, Alberta Canada was chosen by God to join him in heaven on September 9, 2020. Greeted by her husband James and son Anthoney who both preceded her in death, Pauli is at peace and no longer in pain.

Pauli moved to the United States with her family in her early teens leaving behind her friends and her extended family. She attended school in Kent, WA and graduated from Kent Meridian HS with honors in 1955 at the age of 16. It was during that time that she met James whom she would marry on April 27, 1957. Pauli was extremely creative and an accomplished seamstress; designing and making her wedding dress which would then be worn by three other family members.

Pauli settled with her husband in the Kent-Auburn valley and together they raised 3 children. She worked on the family’s dairy and when the children were older went to work at Holy Family Parish in Auburn first as the Secretary and advancing to Office Manager. Pauli was always looking for ways to improve herself and moved on to a position in the seafood industry with Ocean Beauty Seafoods followed by Peter Pan Seafoods. At the time that she retired, she held the title of Executive Secretary and was responsible for the liability insurance on all the fishing vessels and working with the lobbyists here in Washington as well as Washington DC.

Pauli was an artist in every sense of the word. She helped form the original folk group that sang at her church and there was always music in the home. She designed and created wall hangings and the priests garments for the church as well as knowing how to spin, knit, crochet, embroider, make several types of lace, decorate cakes & draw. If you were interested, she was willing to teach you.

She loved to travel and saw much of the United States and Canada with her family as well as making trips to Mexico, Spain and Russia. She was proud of her Russian heritage and passed it on to her children through the stories she told. She actively worked with other family members to “flesh out” the family tree.

Pauli is survived by her two daughters Teresa Ortiz (Ralph) and Cheryl Mundell (Steve), sister Jennette Zmaeff, brother Mike Pudmaroff, daughter in law Natalie Pierre, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

There will be public viewing at Price Helton on Monday Sept 14, 2020 followed by a private funeral and graveside service at Gesthemane Cemetery on Tuesday Sept 15, 2020. Please contact Price Helton for further information.

My dear friend. Thank you or all your gifts, your humor , your friendship, your many talents. For over 40 years we shared a lot, good and bad, mostly good, I think. The world is definitely better for having been a part of it, I know mine is.

I have always said that marrying Pauline was the best thing that my brother Jim ever did. We were simple dairy farmers but if we wanted to plan an elegant special occasion we always went to Pauline for advice and help. Her sense of style and creativity always assured a memorable occasion. While I never had a sister (just 2 pesky brothers) I have always thought of her as "the sister of my heart". That's where she will always be -- in my heart!

Pauline was on of the most creative people I ever met! She could any arts and craft project she put her mind to! She drew a wonderful ad for me, with old English lettering, for my lace shop in Kent. She could also write. She was an early member of our L.A.C.E. group and designed our logo and stationery. She volunteered at The White River Museum in Auburn and helped our group put on two lace exhibits in the past. She tried her hand at many kinds of laces: crocheted, bobbin, netting, needle, but I think her favorite was tatting. She had a wonderful collection of tatting shuttles. In fact, that's how I met her, she came into my shop and bought an antique tatting shuttle. One of her latest interests, was beading. I have a beaded watch band and some earrings that she made me, they're fabulous! I'll never forget her beautiful Celtic pectoral! Amazing! I'm so blessed to have had her in my life. The love of the Lord surrounds her now and may the love of the Lord comfort all her friends and family. Love to all of you, Nancy Evans

Pauline was a very special lady -- so talented in many, many ways. I was always amazed at all the things she could do and do so well. I first met Pauline through Jim, with whom I worked at SPEEA when he was a member of the Executive Board. She and I had similar interests in sewing implements and depression era glassware. She was a joy! My heart goes out to all of the family.
