Rapacz on June 25th 1957 and they were happily married for 43 years, ending too short, when Joe lost his battle with cancer on December 17th 2000. Mom grew up on a 400 acre farm in Ardock, North Dakota. They grew crops and raised farms animals. They went to the store for floor and sugar, and everything they provided by working the farm as a family and a business. They had good years and bad years, as mother nature has ways to impact the life of farmers and their families. Grandma and Grandpa Narlock taught their children how to Love God, Pray, be respectful and grateful, always gives thanks, even when you may question, what do I have to be thankful for right now. Mom shared stories of growing up on the farm and the work involved in the spring to tend the land and the harvest in the fall. Winters in North Dakota were hard and cold, so I here. Back in those days, a young women was expected to find and man, get married and raise a family. Philomene broke the rules a little. In her youth, at times she had jobs away from the farm. She wanted to make her own money, to support herself. She worked at a dinner as a waitress and cleaning up after the customers. She went on to work at a local department store as a cashier. Mom first met dad at a New Year's Eve dance, January 1953 in Florian, Minnesota. They were engaged on December 7th 1955. She was married on her 21st Birthday June 25th 1957. Mom and Dad moved around together. Her first 2 children were born in Minnesota and the eventually moved to California as work in and around the farming towns had limited choices. Mom and dad had both made trips early in life, to see California and decided it was worth a try. Her third child was born in California and they later moved to Washington State and she had baby number 4. She enjoyed family, friends, dancing, gardening, fishing and spending time volunteering and helping others. She stayed very busy as a Mother and Grandmother, instilling the values in her children and grandchildren she had learned as a child. After Joe retired they spend an entire year traveling the country and tried to make it to every state. After Dads passing, mom made (7) trips to Europe to visit Holy and Scared Places. She traveled with family members or church groups. Mom was never afraid of adventure, and she wanted to see things she had read about and experience the spiritual blessings they were known to give. She loved her husband and family, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is now resting peacefully in his loving arms. God Bless and Always be with each and everyone of you.
