Obituary For Sharon K Trueblood

Sharon K. Trueblood, 73, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side from complications of PAH and COPD on May 24th, 2020 in Kent, WA. Sharon was born on June 14th, 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and lived there most of her young life. She traveled to Anchorage, Alaska in 1977 with her husband and three young daughters and loved it so much that they sold their home in Minnesota along with most of their belongings, packed up their car and motorhome, and moved to Anchorage.

In 1987, she moved to Washington state, where she has remained ever since. She tried living in a warmer climate (Phoenix, AZ) for a year in 1992, but Washington called her back. Sharon worked for the City of Seattle and absolutely loved the work she did, and made several long-lasting friendships along the way. Her and her husband Rod loved to tour the nation in their RV, and often spent time at their favorite place on the Oregon coast or on the lake in Lincoln, WA.

Daughter of Fred & Ruth Sturmer, and preceded in death by her husband Rodney Trueblood, brother Douglas Sturmer, and sister Susan Sturmer. Sharon is survived by her brother Jerry Sturmer (Colorado Springs, CO); 3 daughters; Tiffany Call (Jeremiah) (Big Lake, AK), Wendy Davis (Eugene) (DuPont, WA) and Carrie Hamilton (Chris) (Kent, WA); 9 grandchildren, Brent (Kaylene), Casey, Riley, Sheyanna (Chris), Christopher Jr., Cierra, Kylen, and 2 great granddaughters; Olivia and Chloe. Sharon also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was an amazing woman and a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many. She had a heart of gold, the most selfless nature, and would do anything for anyone who needed her. She gave so much to so many people throughout her journey. Sharon will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

So saddened to hear the news of Sharon's passing. I got to know her well when we worked together at the City's Head Start program. She was kind, gentle and supportive: a great friend and colleague. We can all find some comfort the the great memories that we have of her. RIP Sharon Trueblood.

To The Family:You had a wonderful mother who loved you all. I know that you will miss her.  Remember that her love will always be with you in your hearts.  The wisdom and love that she gave to each of you will forever live in your souls. Be thankful of the gifts that she left, and just know that no one can ever take those gifts that was the pure essence of who she was as your mom.  Carrol Ann Leonard-Perry

I loved Sharon’s kind heart and can-do attitude. She was a valued member of our team and could be counted on to go the extra mile to help children, families, caregivers and colleagues. We were all so lucky to know and work with her.

The obituary captured everything that I knew and loved about Sharon.  A huge heart, compassion for her work in taking care of community and a loving spirit.  I loved our little chats about how work was at times while I was with her at the City of Seattle and she was always ready to give me positive reinforcement for our collective work that we did.  I pray peace for Sharon's family that she leaves behind and want to thank all of you for sharing her with all of us that knew her...Hugs.

Dear Family, I met Sharon years ago in Minneapolis at my Aunt Rose’s home. I remember her being so upbeat, friendly, and outgoing. I didn’t see her and my cousin Billy often after that, but I’ll always remember her friendly demeanor and bright smile. From what I have seen from my cousin’s Tiffany, Wendy, and Carrie’s posts on Facebook, Sharon was a wonderful mother and grandmother. I know she will be missed by many. Blessings and peace to all the family and friends as you share memories and your love for Sharon.
